Translation

One, whose sense organs are under control and are not perturbed by
the effects of likes/dislikes, attachment/hatred, will partake in just enough
sense indulgence for physical health and, through self-control will
experience peace of mind.

One whose mind is at peace will quickly absorb divine, spiritual
knowledge (aparoksha jnana). Then, such a person will be rid of all
miseries. This concept is well known through the scriptures.

Unfiltered First Take

If an entrepreneur takes control of emotions and actions, he can attain the goal faster. There will be many occasions where he is expected to be with other people as a social norm. He is expected to be one among the rest. Even when he is doing everything like others and enjoying diversions, he now has control over his mind. He knows when to detach from things. He knows when to quit what he is doing and understands the purpose even while doing it. Once that purpose is fulfilled, he returns to his own way of functioning without any friction, without feeling bad, and without lingering thoughts about it.

When he attains this state, his mental state becomes still. This stillness of mind can create wonders. It attracts the right people, the right support, the right opportunities, and leads to greater success.

UdyamGita Interpretation

After describing the fall caused by uncontrolled desire and anger, Krishna now explains the way out.

He says that a person may still engage with the world and its objects, but if the mind remains under control—free from attachment and aversion—such a person attains divine grace. From this grace arises peace, and in that peace, all sorrows dissolve. A tranquil mind naturally becomes steady and firmly established.

This is not renunciation of life; it is mastery while living within it.

Business Insight

When an entrepreneur learns to control emotions and actions, progress towards the goal becomes faster and smoother.

There will be many occasions where the entrepreneur must participate in social settings, follow norms, and be part of the larger system. Externally, he may appear no different from others—engaging in conversations, gatherings, or diversions. The difference lies inside.

The entrepreneur knows:

  • When to engage
  • When to detach
  • When to quit
  • Why he is engaging in the first place

Because the purpose is clear, there is no guilt, no friction, and no lingering attachment. Once the engagement ends, he returns to his work effortlessly, without emotional residue or distraction.

Leadership Lesson

When this state is achieved, the mind becomes still.

A still mind does not mean inactivity. It means clarity, composure, and stability. Such mental stillness creates powerful outcomes—it attracts the right people, the right support, the right opportunities, and eventually, significant success.

Leadership rooted in inner peace becomes magnetic. Decisions become sharp. Actions become effective. Growth becomes natural rather than forced.
