Translation

Those who learned the Vedas know the Lord as eternal, with no end.
Those who have relinquished passions such as lust and anger will strive to
attain the Lord. Seekers control their sense organs and focus their minds on
Brahma (Lord Almighty). I will explain to you briefly about that Supreme
Principal (Lord Almighty).

At the time of leaving the physical body, a seeker should control all
channel outlets in the body (except the Sushumna channel), with the mind
focused on the Lord, and immerse in continuous meditation on the Lord,
with the life breath centred on the forehead.

Such a person who, with great devotion to the Lord, chants the
primordial syllable Om will leave the body to traverse to the Lord’s abode.

O Partha! I am easily attainable to those who are continuously
meditating on Me, with their wandering minds withdrawn from stray
thoughts.

Unfiltered First Take

Entrepreneurship is like Tapasya. Even after having all the skills needed to gain materialistic worldly pleasures, entrepreneurs give up their desires and focus all their energy on one goal, making their business successful. There are some ground rules to make the journey smooth and successful.

One should be ready to put heart, body, and soul into it. One should align the senses, mind, and intellect toward one goal. Meditating every day helps ensure the mind remains focused, the vision stays clear, and materialistic distractions, as well as the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, do not disturb him.

Even during the deepest crisis, if the entrepreneur can keep his mind calm and continue to think of ways to give his best to the job at hand, it can help the business recover from the crisis. This is a key factor.

Keeping the vision and goal constantly at the back of the mind is another critical skill. This helps unearth hidden opportunities, connections, market segments, and resources for growing the business.

UdyamGita Interpretation

Krishna now distills what sages, scholars, and ascetics pursue through years of discipline. The goal they seek—the Imperishable—is not reached by scattered effort, but by restraint, alignment, and unwavering remembrance.

He explains a precise inner process: control the senses, stabilize the mind, channel energy upward, and fix awareness on one supreme principle. The essence is simple yet demanding—exclusive focus.

Krishna concludes with a reassuring promise: for one who remembers Him constantly and without division, He is not distant or difficult—He is easily attainable.

Business Insight

Entrepreneurship is nothing short of tapasya.

Even with the capability to enjoy comfort, security, and recognition, entrepreneurs voluntarily renounce distractions to pursue a single audacious goal—building something meaningful and lasting. But passion alone is not enough. The journey requires rules of inner discipline.

To make this journey smoother and sustainable:

  • The entrepreneur must commit heart, body, and soul
  • Skills must be aligned with intent
  • Energy must not leak into distractions—especially during highs and lows

Scattered founders build scattered businesses. Focused founders build momentum.

Leadership Lesson

Krishna’s instruction is a leadership manual in disguise.

  • Restrain the gates → Control distractions, impulses, and noise
  • Fix the mind in the heart → Anchor decisions to purpose, not panic
  • Channel energy upward → Convert pressure into clarity and resolve

Daily reflection or meditation is not withdrawal from work—it is preparation for better action. It stabilizes the mind so that market volatility, failures, and uncertainty do not shake the founder’s inner core.

In deep crises, businesses don’t recover because of luck—they recover because the entrepreneur:

  • Remains calm
  • Thinks clearly
  • Continues to give his best to the task at hand

When the vision is always alive in the background of the mind, something remarkable happens:

Hidden opportunities, unexpected connections, new markets, and dormant resources begin to surface.

Key Takeaways

  • Entrepreneurship demands tapasya, not indulgence
  • Single-minded focus multiplies effectiveness
  • Daily mental alignment is a strategic necessity
  • Calm founders see opportunities others miss
  • When vision is constant, success becomes reachable
